A San Francisco institution for decades, Eagle Cafe has been serving pancakes, French toast, and a bevy of breakfast, brunch, and lunch delights to locals and visitors alike since 1928. Our casual and welcoming waterfront patio is a must-visit for diners enjoying a day on the city’s iconic Pier 39.
Griddle Greats
It’s no wonder the menu stars of so many breakfast restaurants are pancakes and French toast. They bring a dose of indulgent comfort to any meal, and the griddled specialties on offer at Eagle Cafe provide the perfect sweet start to your day.
While all of our pancake and French toast dishes are delicious, our Banana Pecan French Toast is a stand-out. Made with local Boudin sourdough bread that’s dipped in a decadent vanilla cinnamon egg batter and topped with bananas, brown sugar, and pecans, it’s not to be missed!

We Use Only the Best
Whether it’s fresh eggs or sustainable seafood, at Eagle Cafe, we take pride in serving the best, most flavorful ingredients. We source the bread for our restaurant’s scrumptious French toast dishes from Boudin Bakery, San Francisco’s original sourdough bakers.

Our Proud Heritage
Did you know that Eagle Cafe opened its doors in 1928? Since then, we’ve proudly stood as one of San Francisco’s best breakfast restaurants serving pancakes and more. Originally situated on Embarcadero and Powell, the entire restaurant was wheeled to Pier 39 in 1978, where it continues to make history nearly a century after its founding.
